The climate crisis has established itself as the defining issue of the 21st century. We are facing changes in our lived environment deemed unprecedented in thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of years. These changes are rapidly becoming the focus of the international community — bringing the crisis to the forefront of global media and politics and to the lives of people across generations. And yet, great divides remain between people and nations; and there still exists strong denial of the very existence of climate change.

Why is it that, despite increasingly widespread acknowledgement of climate change and its dire consequences, we cannot bring ourselves to take the immediate action required to avert catastrophe?

Emerging and experienced Niagara artists have submitted artwork expressing their perspectives on the climate crisis through painting, photography, print.

This exhibit is organized as a fundraiser and all artwork are available for sale. Proceeds from the sale of artwork will be split: 25% to Land Care Niagara (a non-profit environmental organization), 15% to Niagara Artists Centre to support the maintenance of the Dennis Tourbin Members Gallery, and 60% to be retained by the artist.
